Please join Deutsche Bank Cash Management for our three-part series on the value, and practical application, of blockchain technology in cash and treasury management:
1. Blockchain for real economic use cases: What is it, how does it work, why does it matter and what can I do with it?
Although no longer a new technology, blockchain (or distributed ledger technology) is getting increased interest and traction in financial services, including corporate treasury.
This first session will provide an overview on blockchain technology, current and future use cases, such as smart contracts, and the benefits for corporate treasurers. The session also looks at the role of banks and other regulated intermediaries in blockchain innovation and market application.
Date and Time:
Option 1: Tuesday, 18 October 10:00 am – 11:00 am CET,
Option 2: Thursday, 20 October 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm CET
Speaker:
Manuel Klein, Product Manager Blockchain Solutions and digital currencies, Deutsche Bank

2. Usecases for digital money in corporate cash and treasury management
As companies transfer business processes onto a blockchain, advantages of using DLT in process automatisation, payments and cash management are becoming clearer. This second session will showcase two different use cases for blockchain applications in a corporate context:
- Using blockchain for business process automatisation, for example in supply chain management and procurement, and
- digital cash management and in-house banking using tokenised money.
We will also explore different types of digital money such as central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), stable coins and tokenised deposits for these use cases, and how payments on existing payment rails can be triggered from blockchains.
Date and Time:
Option 1: Tuesday, 25 October 10:00 am – 11:00 am CET,
Option 2: Thursday, 27 October 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm CET
Speaker:
Manuel Klein, Product Manager Blockchain solutions and digital currencies, Deutsche Bank

3. How Roche uses blockchain technology to digitise order, invoice, and payment processing
Process automatisation is a priority for most treasury functions to increase efficiency, reduce resource requirements, and minimise the risk of error or fraud. Leveraging blockchain technology can be a helpful approach in digitising and automating processes that involve multiple stakeholders, such as in global supply chain management or procurement.
This final session of our blockchain series is led by Britta Döttger, Head of Treasury and Financing and Stefan Windisch, Senior Cash Manager at Roche. They will introduce Roche’s digital procurement solution built on blockchain technology, and explore the background as well as current and future efficiency gains.

Option 2: Thursday, 3 November 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm CET
