Invenergy chooses Deutsche Bank’s TAS for two solar power generation facility transactions

Invenergy, a leading privately held developer, owner and operator of sustainable energy solutions, has partnered with Deutsche Bank’s Trust & Agency Services (TAS) on agenting the development financing of two solar power generation facilities in Ohio and Texas.

Deutsche Bank Trust Company Americas will act as administrative agent, collateral agent, and account bank on the Hardin II Solar Energy Center (Ohio) project financing facility and as administrative agent on Samson II Solar Energy Center (Texas) project financing facility.

Invenergy has successfully developed more than 200 clean energy projects worldwide, including wind, solar, natural gas and advanced energy storage projects. These projects have produced 31GW of clean energy powering 9.1 million homes.

Hardin II and Samson II projects

The Hardin II Solar Energy Center is a 150MW solar power generation facility located in Hardin County, Ohio. Hardin Solar II is expected to boost economic activity in the Hardin County area, while generating clean energy to meet Ohio’s growing electricity demand. The project is set to provide millions in local and state taxes to the surrounding communities during the 40-year project lifetime. Hardin Solar II is expected to be operational in 2024.1

Samson II Solar Energy Center is a 200MW solar power generation facility located in northeast Texas. This is one of the five phases of the Samson Solar Energy Center, which once completed, will be one of the largest solar energy generation facilities in the US and will generate 1,310MW of sustainable energy.

Construction of the facility began in July 2020 with each of the five phases beginning operations as they are completed.

“We thank Deutsche Bank for their partnership as we continue to build a more sustainable future with transformative clean energy projects like Hardin II and Samson II,” said Brian Bortman, Senior Vice President of Finance & Capital Markets at Invenergy. Brian Studdert, Head of Trust & Agency Services, Americas, Deutsche Bank added, “TAS is delighted to partner with Invenergy on these two innovative solar power generation projects, which will provide significant sustainable power across Ohio and Texas.”
